Under the direction of the Park Superintendent, this role will assist in supervising and perform technical and practical work supporting the management, conservation, preservation, interpretation, development, and use of park areas and resources. This includes supervising and carrying out various operating tasks related to historical and recreational programming, campgrounds, trails, partnerships, day use operations and maintenance, grounds keeping, housekeeping, education, equipment maintenance, special events, collections management, coordinating with park concessions and marina store, and emergency response and accident prevention. The position also involves hiring, training, and supervising a seasonal workforce, representing the recreation area, historical site, and agency through public outreach, news releases, public concerns, and educational programming. Responsibilities include performing and overseeing fee and permit sales, other office operations (including computer operations and programming), maintaining records, preparing reports, and assisting with agency special events and projects at Lewis and Clark SRA and other district/agency locations. The role requires serving on an on-call basis when the park superintendent is absent and performing other duties as required.
