About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining park facilities, grounds, and equipment, and protecting park lands and visitors. The role is with Elkhart County Parks & Recreation and will be located at OxBow Park or other parks as assigned. The hiring range is $23.35-$28.55/hour, with longevity pay after 3 years. The position is full-time, 40 hours/week, and is to be filled ASAP.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year of related work experience for Park I
• 2 years of post-secondary education in a related field for Park II
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have a valid driver's license
• Ability to operate various vehicles/equipment/tools in the performance of duties
• Working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of department policies and procedures, County ordinances, and applicable OHSA safety policies and procedures
• Ability to work professionally with the public and as a team with other staff
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen
