About The Position

The Park Services Host is dedicated to keeping each location’s public areas clean and presentable at all times. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the park in both outdoor areas and indoor office spaces, executing cleaning tasks as outlined in training and Standard Operating Procedures, and completing regular and rotating weekly cleaning tasks as assigned during shift periods. The host will diligently clean and disinfect public areas including, but not limited to, outdoor park areas and walkways, restrooms, offices, food stands, host dining facilities, ride areas, and lockers. Additionally, the role provides exceptional guest service by assisting guests with their questions or issues, ensuring park pathways are litter-free, returning food trays to food stands, maintaining clean condiment and food line areas, and ensuring trash receptacles are clean and free of spills and emptied on a regular basis. The host will also check and replenish supplies in restrooms, sweep, mop, and/or scrub interior floors, operate a trash compactor, and use golf-carts, vehicles, or other motorized equipment to perform daily duties. Basic maintenance duties such as unclogging toilets or changing light bulbs may be required. The role also involves preserving landscaping, ensuring benches and flowerbeds are clean, properly handling cleaning chemicals, protecting guests' belongings, delivering lost and found items, and proactively monitoring the park for safety hazards. Record-keeping of work completed and safety inspections, and ensuring ADA standards are met are also part of the responsibilities. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws
• Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record (if operating vehicles)
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate motorized vehicles and equipment
• Ability to comply with all uniform policies
• Must possess strong attention to detail and desire to keep park clean and presentable
• Ability to safely and properly use a variety of cleaning equipment, including brooms, mops, and chemicals
• Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with all park guidelines
• Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
• Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently

• Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of the park in both outdoor areas and indoor office spaces
• Execute cleaning tasks as outlined in training and Standard Operating Procedures
• Complete regular and rotating weekly cleaning tasks as assigned during shift periods
• Diligently clean and disinfect public areas including, but not limited to, outdoor park areas and walkways, restrooms, offices, food stands, host dining facilities, ride areas, and lockers
• Provide exceptional guest service by assisting guests with their questions or issues
• Ensure the park pathways are litter free
• Return food trays to food stands and maintain clean condiment and food line areas
• Ensure trash receptacles are clean and free of spills visually and are emptied on a regular basis
• Check toilet paper, soap dispensers, in restrooms and replace supplies
• Sweep, mop and/or scrub interior floors
• Operate a trash compactor
• Operate golf-carts, vehicles, or other motorized equipment to perform daily duties
• Perform basic maintenance duties (e.g. unclogging the toilet or changing light bulbs)
• Accurately and promptly report maintenance problems to proper authorities
• Preserve landscaping of park (pulling weeds, watering flowers)
• Ensure benches and flowerbeds are clean and free of debris
• Properly handle, label, and store cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Protect guests' belongings, deliver lost and found items immediately
• Proactively monitor the park for safety hazards (e.g. wet floors, tripping hazards, etc.)
• Maintain records on all work completed and safety inspections
• Ensure ADA standards are met in each location
• All other duties and special projects assigned by leadership
