About The Position

Responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Park Services powered equipment. This role involves routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting down to the component level for repairs to all small engine equipment according to manufacturer’s factory specifications. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, pressure washers, scrubbers, hoses, generators, sandman, street vacuums, carpet vacuums, carpet extractors, auto scrubbers, wet vacs, resort-wide hand dryers, and maid carts. The technician will check with Leads daily to ensure equipment is functioning properly and address any concerns in a timely manner. They will respond to downtimes and recovery-related issues such as hose repair, pressure washer failure, general equipment defects, and emergency chemical spills. The role also requires providing input into a Mechanic Log, documenting findings and repairs, maintaining a clean work area, and disposing of regulated waste properly. Additionally, the technician will maintain an inventory of commonly used parts, order replacements, and research replacement parts from vendors. As needed, the technician may perform duties of a Park Services Attendant, which includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting high touch points, replenishing dispensers, cleaning restrooms, surface cleaning, emptying waste receptacles, supporting recycling initiatives, dusting, preparing chemical bottles, cleaning fixtures, completing daily logs, stocking supplies, and operating a trash compactor and cardboard baler. The position also requires understanding and participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School degree or GED required.
  • 3+ years advanced knowledge of ongoing maintenance and repair of small engines and cleaning equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s license.
  • Ability to work third shift.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Physical mobility and stamina required.
  • Ability to walk long distances at a moderate pace to get to each assigned work area.
  • Ability to stoop, squat, and kneel.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push equipment up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to include latex/non-latex gloves and goggles as required for certain tasks.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to use cleaning chemicals.
  • Comfortability working in all weather conditions to include rain, cold and heat.
  • Ability to use a computer and basic programs as well as communication with use of a smartphone through call and text.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to solve practical problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to identify and anticipate trends in equipment repair to prevent avoidable downtimes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and ensure all regulated waste is disposed of in appropriate containers.
  • Maintain an inventory of commonly used parts and order replacements with Park Services’ Coordinators.
  • Research replacement parts from appropriate vendors as needed.
  • Perform job duties of Park Services Attendant as required, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting, replenishing dispensers, cleaning restrooms, surface cleaning, emptying waste receptacles, supporting recycling, dusting, preparing chemical bottles, cleaning fixtures, completing daily logs, stocking supplies, and operating trash compactor and cardboard baler.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
