About The Position

Become a Park Resource Ranger with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and be part of a team that cares for our state parks. You will help visitors, monitor park areas, and support both routine operations and emergency response. Your work helps create a positive experience for everyone who enjoys the park. This position supports the daily operation of the park by assisting visitors, patrolling facilities, and responding to safety concerns. The role also involves enforcing park rules, maintaining reports, and helping with educational programs.

Requirements

  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • Obtain valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent within 60 days of employment.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Register visitors, check reservations, post information, and assist with facility needs
  • Provide helpful information, resolve concerns, and greet visitors in a friendly manner
  • Inspect buildings, playgrounds, and park areas by foot, bike, vehicle, or boat to ensure safety
  • Explain park regulations, observe visitor activity, and issue parking tickets or notices when needed
  • Assist with lost persons, accidents, fires, and injuries while providing basic first aid and CPR
  • Prepare logs, reports, and documentation including incidents, attendance, and safety summaries
