Requirements

  • Possess knowledge of Park operations, natural resource conservation, and environmental regulations.
  • Understands public safety, emergency response protocols, and the interpretation of natural and cultural resources for visitors.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills when assisting visitors, and leading educational programs.
  • Skilled in operating Park equipment, completing landscaping, and general building/grounds maintenance.
  • Able to work independently and make sound decisions in changing outdoor environments.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including hiking, lifting equipment, and working in various weather conditions while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Must possess and maintain a current Arizona Driver's license appropriate to assignment.
  • First Aid CPR Certified.

  • Certified Interpretive Guide preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hosts visitors, provides information in response to visitor questions, direction, guidance, and concerns.
  • Provides customer service by phone and in-person and responds to publics inquires about park hours, accomodations, and reservations.
  • Perform cashier duties at contact station and park gift store. Collect and account for fees for park admission and store purchases
  • Promote the safety of park visitor and enforces Park rules and protect Park resources. Utilizes two-way radio communications systems; Confers with local law enforcement officers.
  • Perform various maintenance tasks proficiently including vehicle and park equipment, building maintenance, preventative maintenance and minor plumbing and/or electrical.
  • May lead and assist in training subordinate staff.
