About The Position

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service, is hiring an OPS Park Ranger in a part-time Other Personal Services position. The role involves cleaning and maintaining park facilities, trailheads, grounds, and docks; performing basic site maintenance; and assisting with other projects as needed. Occasional to moderate travel is required, and the position may respond to emergencies, including natural disasters or other incidents requiring travel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Pass a background screening, including fingerprinting, as a condition of employment.
• Provide honest and authentic responses throughout the evaluation and selection process.

Responsibilities

• Clean and stock restrooms; sweep floors and wipe down counters and sinks.
• Blow off areas around BBQ grills and other fixed structures at trailheads.
• Brush cobwebs from pavilion rafters, beneath benches and tables, and from the exterior of structures.
• Remove ashes from BBQ grills and fire rings as needed.
• Perform general site maintenance, including plumbing repairs and replacement of camping or trailhead signs and kiosks.
• Remove fallen limbs, debris, and trash from grounds and docks.
• Mow, weed-eat, and perform general landscaping.
• Clean office areas and trash receptacles.
• Assist with other projects as needed.
