About The Position

The City of Edinburg is actively seeking a dedicated Park Ranger to perform routine operations work in the Municipal Park and facilities. This role is ideal for someone seeking engaging work, wishing to advance their career as a Park Ranger, and interested in working for a rapidly growing city.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED or equivalency
• Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• No experience required
• Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
• Prefer routine operation work
• Attentive monitoring skills
• Enjoy working as part of a team
• Dependability

Responsibilities

• Assisting visitors
• Maintaining parks
• Ensuring proper usage within facilities
• Monitoring park activity
• Enforcing proper usage of playground equipment, picnic facilities, public restrooms, and other park amenities
• Implementing rules and regulations as set by City ordinance
• Performing maintenance work as needed, including stocking restrooms, general clean-up of park areas, painting, and general repair work
• Assisting with maintenance and inspection reports
• Performing simple landscaping tasks as needed
• Ensuring and managing the opening and closing of the park
• Providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed
