About The Position

The City of Fredericksburg is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Part Time – Seasonal Park Operations Worker. If you enjoy working outdoors and contributing to the beautification of our community, we want to hear from you!

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Virginia Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with co-workers, supervisory staff, and customers.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, weekends, some evenings, and fluctuating shifts based on park needs and scheduled events.
• Criminal background and driving record checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Performing semi-skilled tasks related to grounds keeping in parks and public facilities, including mowing and landscaping.
• Operate various hand and power equipment, as well as delivering and setting up equipment for City events and programs.
• Perform custodial tasks and complete necessary paperwork, such as work orders and daily reports.
• Assist with clean-up operations for storm debris when required.
