About The Position

This position performs maintenance and litter control for park grounds and undertakes specialized projects as assigned. General supervision is provided by a District Park Supervisor. All behaviors must comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior. Responsibilities include providing litter control for park grounds by emptying trash cans, driving to and from destinations, operating various trucks and vehicles, assisting in park inspections to ensure public and facility safety, noting potential hazards, performing general maintenance and repair to park facilities, and participating in debris removal after flooding and other inclement weather. Other duties include performing special projects, maintaining work, time, and material records, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide litter control for park grounds, which includes emptying 35-gallon trash cans.
• Drive to and from destinations as assigned by Supervisor.
• Operate a variety of trucks and vehicles in the performance of work.
• Assist in park inspections to ensure the safety of the public and park facilities; note possible safety hazards or causes of injury; perform general maintenance and repair to park facilities as required.
• Participate in debris removal following flooding and other forms of inclement weather.
• Perform special projects as assigned.
• Maintain work, time and material records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
