About The Position

The Park Maintenance candidate is a responsible, hard-working, and knowledgeable person who will tend to the upkeep of the Park District’s parks and facilities. General park maintenance includes operation of equipment used for mowing, landscaping, and snow removal, as well as athletic field maintenance, playground inspection and repair, turf care, custodial duties, event set-ups, and supervision of part time and seasonal employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of the operation and use of specialized and heavy motor equipment used in general construction and maintenance activities
• Basic understanding of hand tools, carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing
• Valid, clean driver’s license at all times
• Illinois Pesticide Operators License required within 6 months of hire date
• CPR certification
• Mandatory physical, drug screening, and criminal background check prior to employment

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of experience in grounds maintenance, park and/or landscape maintenance
