The Presidio Trust is seeking two Seasonal Park Guides to join its Visitor Services Department. The Presidio Trust is an innovative federal agency that stewards and shares the history, beauty, and wonder of the Presidio for everyone to enjoy forever. The ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone, the Presidio was once a military post under three flags. Today, it is a surprising national park site spanning 1,500 acres at the Golden Gate. Its rare natural habits, inspiring views, and world-class trails are a local and global attraction. It is among the most biologically diverse parks in America and a popular destination with beaches, museums, restaurants, hotels, homes, and offices. Reporting to the Park Guide Supervisor, the Seasonal Park Guides serve as front-line staff supporting visitor services and the daily operations at the Presidio Tunnel Tops, including the Field Station and Outpost. Seasonal Park Guides provide orientation and information, to a high volume of visitors, with a focus on families and youth. Staff in these positions must be friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable about the Presidio. This position is focused on meeting and exceeding the expectations of visitors and is a significant contributor to an exceptional park experience. Park Guides perform routine operational tasks, assist with the facility upkeep, and support self-guided and staff-led engagement activities. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Seasonal Park Guides work full-time (32-40 hours per week) for 4-6 months, and include weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings. Our ideal candidate is an energetic, reliable team player who would thrive working in the outdoors and enjoys connecting people of all ages to nature and parks. This is a full-time temporary position with limited benefits and starting at $24.95 per hour, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. This position is included in a bargaining unit, specifically the Laborers International Union of North America, Local 792, United Public Employees of California.
