About The Position

The Park Attendant position is primarily responsible for assisting the Recreation Division in providing citizens access to quality recreation programs and facilities. This position plays a key role in monitoring and maintaining the recreational facilities. Work is primarily performed at the Medart Recreation Park under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator and Director.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of parks maintenance.
  • Knowledge of sports specific equipment and rules.
  • Knowledge of proper English, grammar, and mathematics.
  • Skilled in operating a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to remain calm and polite under pressure.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to interact with people in a courteous, professional manner.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in recreation sports, scoring, and basic first aid a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain group picnic areas, tables, bathrooms, park grounds, and Recreation Administration office.
  • Removes and disposes of trash and litter.
  • Inspects facilities and equipment for safety and damage.
  • Provides information and excellent customer service to park visitors.
  • Assist in the preparing of team sports schedule: games, practice, referees, umpires, etc.
  • Assist in coordinating referees, coaches and parents.
  • Assist in preparing for and conducting sports evaluations, drafts and coach meetings.
  • Responsible for special projects assigned by Recreation Coordinator and Director.
