About The Position

The Park Attendant position is primarily responsible for assisting the Recreation Division in providing citizens access to quality recreation programs and facilities. This position plays a key role in monitoring and maintaining the recreational facilities. Work is primarily performed at the Medart Recreation Park under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator and Director.

Requirements

Knowledge of parks maintenance.
Knowledge of sports specific equipment and rules.
Knowledge of proper English, grammar, and mathematics.
Skilled in operating a motor vehicle.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently.
Ability to remain calm and polite under pressure.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to interact with people in a courteous, professional manner.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.
Equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

Experience in recreation sports, scoring, and basic first aid a plus.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain group picnic areas, tables, bathrooms, park grounds, and Recreation Administration office.
Removes and disposes of trash and litter.
Inspects facilities and equipment for safety and damage.
Provides information and excellent customer service to park visitors.
Assist in the preparing of team sports schedule: games, practice, referees, umpires, etc.
Assist in coordinating referees, coaches and parents.
Assist in preparing for and conducting sports evaluations, drafts and coach meetings.
Responsible for special projects assigned by Recreation Coordinator and Director.
