Operation of golf course equipment will be necessary upon completion of training. This will primarily include golf carts, passenger vehicles and general landscaping tools around the immediate vicinity of the clubhouse. Knowledge of the game of golf will be an asset for this position. Work schedule may include nights, weekends and holidays. Work is performed under the immediate supervision of the Head Golf Professional. Discounted golf at each of the City’s golf courses is a benefit of this position.

Requirements

Formal Education, which includes basic arithmetic and/or business math.
Must be comfortable in a customer service role and working in an outdoor setting.
Must have experience operating a computer.
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of the game of golf will be an asset for this position.

Responsibilities

Provides excellent customer service for patrons, over the phone and in person, to answer questions and assist in the operation of the golf shop, clubhouse, and grillroom
Assists in tournament-related activities, including leagues, golf associations, group outings, tournaments, school activities, group catering and serving, etc.
Assist grill with set up and clean up of shelter area during tournament events.
Prepares the golf cart fleet for the golfing public on a daily basis, including removing all trash, washing with hose, keeping the inside of the cart shed neat and tidy, periodic cleaning of the shed with a pressure washer/blower
Performs basic clean up and custodial duties on grounds, facilities and equipment
Picks-up litter, lifts and empties garbage cans, removes excess debris and water from sidewalks, cleans public spaces and offices, etc.
Assists in enforcing the facility rules and regulations
Washes and cleans passenger vehicles used to transport employees/patrons, equipment and tools
Assists in the daily driving range operations, including but not limited to operating the range cart, hand shagging in tree lined area, retrieving and filling baskets for range usage
Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and City Safety Standards and Policies.
