About The Position

Promote the WV Birth to Three program (WVBTT) by facilitating family engagement and Child Find activities and serving as a liaison between families, community service providers and resources. Maintain working knowledge of available resources within the Regional Administrative Unit’s (RAU) geographical region. Link families to necessary resources. Represent the perspective of WV Birth to Three families at various meetings and committees. Conduct public awareness and Child Find activities in each county of the RAU’s geographical region. Develop and maintain a central directory of resources for families. Share program news and family involvement activities through multiple outlets. Organize and facilitate family engagement activities to connect WV Birth to Three families to each other. Establish and maintain a working relationship with Service Coordinators, practitioners, and community partners within the Regional Administrative Unit’s geographical service area. Traverse various terrain to access visitation sites. Remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.

Requirements

High School diploma/GED
Parent of a child with special needs who received Part C and/or Part B IDEA services.
Abide by all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, and policies related to the program and relevant grants.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Utilize technology to enter, retrieve, and process information and communicate electronically.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Work collaboratively.
Successfully clearing the background check process, which may include: criminal background check, education verification, references, drug testing, motor vehicle records, sex offender registry, Child Protective Services check, and federal grants debarred list.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Able to travel extensively; requires the need for flexible scheduling, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Adhere to the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Code of Ethics.
Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
Access information using a computer.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

Participate in all required, committees, conferences, meetings and trainings relevant to the program and/or agency.
Respond to any inquiries within a timely manner.
Oversee assistive technology.
