The Parent Partner serves as a mentor to parents/caregivers offering validation, guidance, empathy, hope and support grounded in their own lived experiences, as a parent who has navigated systems such as child welfare, probation, behavioral or mental health, or special education. The Parent Partner’s role on the Full Service Partnership (FSP) High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) team is to build trusting, peer-to-peer relationships with parents and caregivers, helping them navigate complex systems, prepare for team meetings, strengthen family bonds, and find sustainable support. The Parent Partner helps parents/caregivers build confidence, reframe challenges, and actively engage in each HFW phase. Their role is vital in ensuring that the parent/caregiver’s voice, values, and priorities are elevated across the four phases of HFW. The Parent Partner’s own lived experience provides them with a unique lens from which to advocate, from a place of deep empathy and wisdom.
