About The Position

Early Education: KITS Parent Group Facilitator 1 Position: Bohemia Summer: Tuesday 8:30am-11:00am and 12:00pm-2:30pm Hours/days may fluctuate depending on program needs and supervisor approval 2026 Summer: June 29th-August 6 th Position Description: There will be a mandatory training prior to the start of the program, June 22 nd -24 th . The Parent Group Facilitator will facilitate parent groups using the Kids in Transition to School (KITS) model and philosophy. Conduct make up sessions as necessary. Attend weekly clinical meetings. Groups meet for 1.5–2.5 hours each session, including prep time. There will be a morning and afternoon session one day a week on Tuesday with the exception of the first two weeks, when meetings will be held on Tuesday and Thursday. Candidates will work both a morning and afternoon session at the same site. Lead weekly parent group meetings Facilitate attendance to groups through weekly reminder calls Maintain contact with site coordinator regarding family needs Conduct make-up sessions in person or via phone when parents miss group Oversee documentation of weekly parent group including attendance Coordinate with site coordinator regarding attendance for school readiness groups and deliver weekly certificates to parents accordingly Attend weekly clinical meetings Other project related tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, teaching license, desired or equivalent combination of training and experience appropriate to the position
  • Experience working with adults and children building rapport and demonstrating friendliness and respect for all participants
  • Experience working in a team environment, requiring participatory decision- making/cooperative interactions among employees
  • Good working knowledge of personal computers; computer literacy
