About The Position

The Child Care Provider will assist Kids in Transition to School (KITS) school readiness and parent groups through providing onsite childcare for siblings during groups. Implement behavior management techniques consistent with the KITS model and philosophy including appropriate reinforcement and limit setting. Follow program safety protocol. Assist with classroom projects and activities. Clean up activities after each group. Complete paperwork as needed. Groups meet 2.5 hours each session, including prep. There will be a morning and afternoon session one day a week on Tuesday with the exception of the first two weeks, when meetings will be held on Tuesday and Thursday. Candidates will work during both morning and afternoon sessions at the same site. Arrange the environment and prepare materials for activities Model appropriate behavior during instruction and activities Assist children in making smooth transitions between activities Closely monitor the activities of a wide range of children and act promptly Monitor overall behavior and interactions among the group Ongoing assessment of children’s strengths and needs Participate in regular meetings Other project related tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Understanding of child development and appropriate expectations for infant–10-year olds
  • Experience and/or training working with young children
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid and CPR certification (Preferred)
