About The Position

The Parent Coordinator role is responsible for fostering strong relationships between parents, the school, and the community. This position involves engaging families in school activities, supporting student recruitment and enrollment, coordinating the school nutrition program, and contributing to the overall operational and strategic leadership of the school. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to Green Dot's mission, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (at minimum)
  • Strong ability to lead and develop positive working relationships with parents
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, comfortable learning new computer programs
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, perform well under pressure, and complete tasks/projects effectively and on time
  • Able to maintain a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude at all times, especially when faced with adversity
  • High level of personal responsibility and drive toward ambitious goals
  • Commitment to customer service
  • Able to exercise discretion in the dissemination of information

Responsibilities

  • Align school parent and family engagement goals with organizational goals, aiming for over 30% guardian participation in at least two events annually.
  • Set parent engagement goals and metrics in collaboration with school administration and the School Operations Manager, with regular progress assessments.
  • Plan and communicate at least three engaging programs/activities per semester and track attendance.
  • Attend community events to build relationships and recruit community partners for the family engagement program.
  • Develop and facilitate a parent leadership team, PTO, or parent group to address community issues and advocate for education reform.
  • Organize parent volunteer initiatives.
  • Post updates on the school’s social media pages and parent communication platform (Parent Square).
  • Participate in health and safety training and drills.
  • Support the enforcement of campus safety processes.
  • Submit all work hours by payroll deadlines.
  • Participate in mandatory Green Dot and individual professional development programs, including All Green Dot Days.
  • Participate in events promoting Green Dot and its schools.
  • Prepare for and engage in team and individual meetings with manager.
  • Execute a recruiting strategy under the direction of the School Operations Manager, including contacting new families and supporting their enrollment.
  • Leverage community relationships and partnerships for student recruitment.
  • Coordinate and host school site events such as open houses, enrollment nights, and school tours.
  • Coordinate daily lunch activities, including managing lunch ordering, ensuring accurate student scanning for meal reimbursement, managing lunch servers, and ensuring smooth physical lunch setup that meets federal compliance.
  • Support the lunch application process, including distribution, collection, verification, and accurate data input into the student information system.
  • Support ongoing improvement by actively evaluating processes and suggesting enhancements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned related to primary responsibilities and the holistic functioning of the office.
  • Support other team members with office duties, especially those pertaining to parents.
  • Translate English/Spanish, spoken and written.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
