About The Position

Parent Child Plus Home Visitor/ Play Group Facilitator (Grant Funded/Conditional on Grant Funding). Applicants preferably live in Lowell and reflect the cultural background and linguistic diversity of the city. They visit toddler and young preschool homes with books and educational toys on a twice-weekly basis to engage families and their young children in positive interactions to facilitate learning. Part-time Parent Child Plus Home Visitor/ Play Group Facilitator applicants preferably live in Lowell and reflect the cultural background and linguistic diversity of the city. Part-time Parent Child Plus Home Visitor/ Play Group Facilitators visit six (6) to eight (8) families twice weekly for one half hour. All home visits follow a preset model established by the Parent Child Plus national model using curriculum designed specifically for children in Lowell. Parent Child Plus Home Visitors/ Play Group Facilitators support outreach events three (3) to five times (5) per year and aid in facilitating parent education trainings.

  • Must complete Ages and Stages Questionnaires twice per year for all families participating in Parent Child Plus
  • Provide translation as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly staff meeting.
  • Maintain sign in sheets for all playgroups and community events.
  • Complete Ages and Stages Questionnaires twice per year for all families participating in Parent Child Plus; and encourage playgroup families to complete questionnaire on a voluntary basis twice per year.
  • Share parenting information and community resources with families through playgroups and outreach.
  • Support families in accessing early childhood programs upon completion of program.
  • Enter required program data into database.
  • Complete weekly documentation of home visits required by Parent Child Plus.
  • Make appropriate referrals to support families.
  • Prepare materials for home visits and playgroups.
  • Provide translation as needed.
