Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of direct support experience, preferably within an educational or classroom-based setting.
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a current, non-provisional, non-probationary driver’s license in good standing

Nice To Haves

  • NJ Substitute Certification Required (for Teacher Assistants)
  • NJ TOSD Certification Required (for Special Education Teachers)
  • NJ K–6 Teaching Certification Required (for Special Education Teachers)
  • Associates degree in a related field or 60 college credits required (for Teacher Assistants)
  • Bachelor’s degree (for Special Education Teachers)
  • Hold a CE, CEAS or Standard License in "NJ K-6 or K-8" (for Special Education Teachers)
  • Hold a CE, CEAS or Standard License in “NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD)” or “Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH)” (for Special Education Teachers)
