About The Position

Bancroft School is hiring Paraprofessionals to support children and young adults with autism, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and behavioral challenges. This role involves helping students reach their full potential in areas such as communication, academics, social skills, independence, and confidence-building. You will provide encouragement, structure, and compassionate support in a team environment, contributing to lifelong independence and community inclusion. Requirements

Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years of direct support experience, preferably within an educational or classroom-based setting.
Be 18 years of age or older
Have a current, non-provisional, non-probationary driver’s license in good standing

Nice To Haves

NJ Substitute Certification Required (for Teacher Assistants)
NJ TOSD Certification Required (for Special Education Teachers)
NJ K–6 Teaching Certification Required (for Special Education Teachers)
Associates degree in a related field or 60 college credits required (for Teacher Assistant)
Hold a CE, CEAS or Standard License in "NJ K-6 or K-8" (for Special Education Teacher)
Hold a CE, CEAS or Standard License in “NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD)” or “Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH)” (for Special Education Teacher)
