About The Position

The Paraprofessional will effectively assist students in our Reaching Higher Afterschool Program. The program begins in September and runs the entire school year until May. This is a part-time position working a maximum of 10 hours weekly. The program runs Monday-Thursday. The position is located at Attwood New Tech Magnet School - Lansing, MI 48911 - Working with students in Grades 4-7.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED.
Demonstrated knowledge of youth.
At least 2 years experience working with youth in a structured program setting.
Shall be a person of good character who possesses the health, emotional stability, maturity and strength to carry out assigned duties.

Responsibilities

Engage and assist students during academic enrichment activities.
Assist youth with homework and provide support for individualized tutoring.
Manage students in a safe and productive way.
Conduct yourself in a manner to serve as a mentor and role model.
Cultivates positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff.
Attends all mandatory meetings and completes all paperwork as required.
Participates in 18 hours of professional development per year that meets licensing requirements.
Performs duties in a manner that ensures compliance with Child Day Care Licensing rules and regulations.
Ensures program operates in a way that follows industry quality standards and in accordance with the grant.
Performs other duties as assigned.
