About The Position
This position is scheduled for 35 hours per week. Flagship Charter Academy, located in Detroit, MI, opened in 2008 and serves students K-8. At Flagship, you can connect passion with purpose. The role involves assessing student abilities and providing instructional assistance for students in need of academic intervention through 1:1 or group workshops as directed by the classroom teacher and designated instructional leader. The commitment is to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially, and implementing a result-driven curriculum to achieve significant growth from fall to spring testing. The position requires attending professional development and articulation meetings with classroom teachers and parents as required.
Requirements
- Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
- Knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
- Understanding of and capability to navigate technical systems.
