About The Position

This position is full-time, 35 hours per week. Emerson Academy of Dayton opened in 2005 and serves 675+ K-8 students every year. At Emerson, you can connect purpose with passion. There is a high level of support for all staff, a safe learning environment with external and internal cameras, high parent involvement, and behavioral support for teachers and students (ABSS). A Dean support model is also in place.

Requirements

Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
Knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
Understanding of and capability to navigate technical systems.

Previous experience working in a school or with school age children.

Responsibilities

Assess student abilities and provide instructional assistance for students in need of academic intervention through 1:1 or group workshops as directed by the classroom teacher and designated instructional leader.
Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
Implement result-driven curriculum to achieve significant growth from fall to spring testing.
Attend professional development and articulation meetings with classroom teachers and parents as required.
