About The Position

Nye County School District is hiring a paraprofessional at Round Mountain Jr/Sr High School for the 2026–2027 school year. The position assists teaching staff and students receiving special education, early childhood, speech, or 504-plan services with instructional activities during the school day. Assignments may be school-wide, in a self-contained special education program, or one-to-one with a student. The available position is a 7.5-hour school-wide special education paraprofessional role supporting classroom teachers and students across settings such as the school campus, general education, resource, and self-contained classrooms. Hours vary by position. The date available is to be determined, and the posting remains open continuously.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet ESSA paraprofessional requirements: 48 college credits or a passing ETS Paraprofessional Assessment; proof of qualification must be uploaded with the application.
• Correct English usage and grammar.
• Knowledge of educational, behavioral, and emotional principles and techniques.
• Ability to relate to adults and children of all ages, particularly those with a handicapping condition.
• Current CPR certification and First Aid training.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to assist with toileting needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff and students with instructional activities during the instructional school day.
• Provide support for special education services across school-campus, general education, resource, and self-contained classroom settings.
• Depending on the assignment, support students school-wide, in a specialized self-contained instructional program, or one-to-one.
• Assist students receiving special education, early childhood, speech, or 504-plan services.
• Assist with students’ toileting needs.
