About The Position

Lowell Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional for a PreK Health Long Term Substitute position in Lowell, Massachusetts. The paraprofessional will support students in transitioning within the building and classroom, which may involve lifting and carrying. For Health positions, specific duties include feeding, changing diapers, and toileting children. The position reports to the building principal.

Requirements

• Successfully passed the Paraprofessional test, OR 48 college credits or more, OR a Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience with the appropriate age group.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in providing developmentally appropriate activities for students.
• Implement concrete learning activities that meet the varied developmental needs of students with and without special needs.
• Work with ELL students.
• Assist classroom teacher in getting students into and out of the buildings and classrooms.
• Assist teacher during activities such as field trips and emergency drills.
• Assist teacher with classroom routines such as snack, washing dishes, clean-up, bathroom, and other similar activities.
• Assist teacher in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for children.
• Perform other tasks and assume responsibilities as assigned by the building principal.
• Feeding children.
• Changing diapers.
• Toileting children.
