About The Position

UCP of Central Florida is seeking a Paraprofessional - PE to support physical education at its UCP West Orange Campus in Winter Garden, Florida. The role implements physical education activities aligned with Florida State Standards and supports students’ motor skills and fitness levels, adapting activities as needed. It also helps students understand the relationship between health, wellness, and healthy nutrition. The position coordinates Campus Field Day and consults with teachers to carry behavior plans into physical education instruction. UCP describes its mission as empowering children with and without disabilities through individualized support, education, and therapy in an inclusive environment.

Requirements

Associate degree or equivalent college credits, or Parapro.
First Aid/CPR certification.
Experience leading physical education activities for students with and without disabilities.
Knowledge of basic physical education instructional methods and techniques.
Knowledge of safe practices in classroom and physical education activities.
Knowledge of basic concepts of child growth and development and developmental behavior characteristics.

Responsibilities

Implement physical education activities aligned with Florida State Standards.
Support individual students’ motor skills and fitness levels, creating adaptations as needed.
Provide input on goals, objectives, and current status for IEPs, as appropriate.
Use organizational and motivational strategies to promote maximum participation.
Ensure students learn the relationship between health and wellness and the components of healthy nutrition.
Conduct the required number of physical education classes weekly (150 minutes per class).
Coordinate Campus Field Day.
Consult with teachers to ensure behavior plans are carried over during physical education instruction.
Perform other duties as assigned.
