About The Position

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Paraplanner to support advisors, financial planners, and clients through comprehensive financial planning preparation and operational support. This role is heavily focused on behind-the-scenes planning work including gathering and organizing client financial data, maintaining information within planning and CRM systems, preparing analyses and reports, and assisting with meeting preparation and follow-up activities. The Paraplanner will help support retirement, cash flow, education, insurance, tax, and estate planning analyses while working closely with advisors and planners to ensure accurate, timely, and organized deliverables. This individual may occasionally attend client meetings in a support or learning capacity but will primarily focus on planning preparation, workflow coordination, and client support functions rather than sales or business development. Additional responsibilities include preparing client-ready materials, assisting with scenario modeling and special analyses, tracking planning-related action items, maintaining planning templates and workflows, and supporting process improvements across the planning team. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to continue developing within the financial planning industry with long-term growth potential into a Financial Planner role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Financial Planning, or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, investment advisory, accounting, client service, or related field preferred
  • Series 65 license required or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Familiarity with financial planning software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, organization, and client-service mindset required

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to tools such as eMoney, Salesforce, Orion, Holistiplan, or FP Alpha is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize, and review client data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Input and maintain client information in financial planning, CRM, portfolio management, and document management systems.
  • Help prepare financial planning analyses, reports, summaries, and meeting materials.
  • Support retirement, cash flow, education, insurance, estate, tax, and other planning-related analyses under the direction of advisors and Financial Planners.
  • Assist with scenario modeling and special analyses, such as Social Security, mortgage, tax, insurance, estate flow, or other client-specific planning questions.
  • Prepare client-ready materials for review by a Financial Planner or advisor.
  • Help identify missing information, inconsistencies, or straightforward planning questions that require advisor or planner review.
  • Support ongoing plan updates and client planning workflows.
  • Work closely with advisors and Financial Planners to prepare for client meetings.
  • Help organize meeting agendas, reports, planning exhibits, and follow-up items.
  • Track planning-related tasks and implementation follow-up after client meetings.
  • Coordinate internally with client service, operations, advisors, and planning team members.
  • May attend select client meetings in a support, note-taking, or learning capacity.
  • Help ensure planning deliverables are accurate, complete, organized, and delivered on time.
  • Learn the firm's planning process, assumptions, tools, templates, and service workflows.
  • Build proficiency in the firm's financial planning software and related systems.
  • Help maintain planning templates, checklists, and internal process documentation.
  • Participate in planning team meetings, training, and case discussions.
  • Demonstrate increasing independence over time as planning knowledge and judgment develop.
  • Support process improvements that improve consistency, accuracy, and client experience.
