About The Position

IMEG Consultants Corp is seeking a Parametric Engineer 2 (Structural) to work at our San Francisco, CA location. This role involves leading the development, validation, and deployment of parametric structural engineering workflows to accelerate early-stage decision-making and improve project delivery. The position combines structural engineering judgment with computational tools to produce fast, code-informed studies, cost/CO2 insights, and reproducible methods that can be scaled across the firm.

Requirements

Master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
4 years relevant building design consulting experience.
4 years experience in structural fundamentals (mechanics, materials, load paths) across steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
Experience framing problems, prototyping algorithms, and building intuitive interfaces in rapid build-test-iterate loops, blending structural judgment with inventive parametric methods and human-centered UX.
Hands-on parametric/computational skillset (Grasshopper and Python components) with ability to troubleshoot, iterate, and package tools for non-coders.
Knowledge of ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC.
Ability to align scripts/workflows with code checks and firm standards.
Experience with Rhino.
Experience with ETABS.
Experience with RAM.
Experience with MS Office.
PE License with structural focus.

Responsibilities

Build, test, and maintain parametric tools/workflows for structural systems.
Integrate tools with design platforms (Rhino/Grasshopper, Python, ETABS, RAM, Revit) and document standards for re-use.
Validate computational outputs against structural codes and IMEG quality processes.
Provide in-process design reviews and ensure deliverables meet project and client requirements.
Lead or co-lead early-phase structural studies (schemes, load paths, system comparisons), contributing analysis, calculations, and specifications aligned with scope, budget, and schedule.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and multidisciplinary teams.
Interact with clients to gather requirements, present options, and communicate technical information.
Present at industry conferences, including proposing topics, building decks/demos, delivering talks/workshops, and sharing follow-ups (papers/videos/case studies).
Present to clients/contractors and internally, running live demos, communicating options and trade-offs, performing real-time parametric demos, capturing feedback, and aligning next steps.
Track and report innovation by maintaining an innovation log and sharing lessons learned through internal seminars, guides, and training.
Monitor industry trends (codes, materials, software) and contribute to research and innovation initiatives.
