About The Position

Assesses, transports and administers basic and advanced life support treatment to ill and injured persons in accordance with department, system and South Carolina DHEC policies, procedures and standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned.
  • Completion of Approved Paramedic Training Program
  • SC Paramedic
  • SCDL - SC Driver's License: Valid driver’s license and an acceptable five-year motor vehicle record as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
  • Working knowledge of patient equip (Vitals, suction, defib)
  • Working knowledge of Cardiac Monitor, Defibrillator, Pulse Oximeter, Non-Invasive BP Monitor, Infusion Pumps, Other Equipment
  • Ability to demonstrates skill proficiency on an annual basis
  • Ability to maintains Professional Certifications by attending in-service training programs

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year pre-hospital care experience preferred
  • PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Verifies operational readiness of vehicles and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of MCAS vehicles
  • Responds to calls received from the Dispatch Center
  • Operates MCAS vehicles in a safe, courteous and efficient manner
  • Assesses, monitors, transports and provides necessary medical treatment
  • Prepares written documentation
  • Attends staff meetings
  • Performs POC testing with approval of Administration
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
