About The Position

The Paramedic provides patient/ family centered care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse when performing technical care procedures in the Emergency Department and operates under the supervision of the Operational Medical Director when in the role of transport Paramedic or call taker. Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary, self-managed work team using a holistic, caring approach to patient care. Performs delegated aspects of age-appropriate patient care and technical patient care skills including basic rehabilitation, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy and EKG under the RN direction. Reinforces patient/family teaching provided by the RN. When working in the capacity of a member of the transport team works as a member of the multidisciplinary care team providing advanced skills as delegated by the operational medical control physician in accordance with established protocols and guidelines. All patient care is provided in accordance with CCMC and Emergency Department policies and procedures.
