About The Position

Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is seeking full-time Paramedics for the Quad Cities area. AMT is a leading provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance services in Central and Western Illinois and parts of Iowa. As a private, not-for-profit organization, AMT is dedicated to community benefit. Paramedics are essential members of the team, responsible for patient care during emergency responses, interfacility transports, and standby events. This role involves working 12-hour shifts with a home base in Milan, IL, typically resulting in a 36-hour week and a 48-hour week each pay period, with shift bids occurring every six months.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Current Paramedic license in Illinois
Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification
Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license
ACLS, BTLS, and PALS certification or ability to obtain; instruction provided by AMT if not currently certified
Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 100 pounds (subject to physical exam)
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures
Ability to exercise sound judgment while working in a stressful environment

Responsibilities

Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care
Provide advanced life support when needed
Provide patients with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment
Document patient information, condition, and treatment
Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights
Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment in accordance with company vehicle check-off sheets and inventory requirements
Operate and drive an ambulance in conjunction with applicable safety policies and laws
Maintain current certification(s) according to provisions set forth by the governing licensure
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
Present and promote a positive company image
