About The Position

Provides advanced life support to patients according to established standards and guidelines. This role involves accurate, legible, and detailed documentation adhering strictly to EMS protocols. The Paramedic serves as a role model and resource for other EMS personnel, providing open and willing assistance to fellow staff members at any time. They are responsible for safe and courteous driving, and ensuring accurate patient charge information with no documented issues and positive comments related to charge sheets. The position requires proper patient assessment and airway management, with documentation according to professional standards. Non-transports must be documented accurately and properly per policy. The Paramedic must follow treatment protocols for patient care, excelling in adherence to EMS protocols with few exceptions.

Requirements

  • Must hold a current Georgia Paramedic License.
  • Must be certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support as well as Advanced Cardiac Life Support and must maintain certification at all times with no lapse.
  • Must maintain a valid Georgia Drivers License and maintain a driving record that meets the requirements set forth by the Hospital Driving Policy.
  • Must be aware and follow current Federal and Georgia laws with regards to emergency medical services.
  • Must meet Hospital requirements for criminal background check.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Paramedic.
  • Must be able to utilize initiative and independent action when required within the general framework of professional assignment.
  • Must be able to utilize good judgment in evaluating alternatives in unorthodox situations.
  • Must have good verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with physicians, patients and family members.
  • Must be able to work with accuracy under stress and emergency situations.
  • Discretion required in handling confidential information.
  • Must be able to consistently follow prescribed treatment protocol for patient conditions.
