About The Position

This role is for a Paramedic in the Freestanding Emergency Department (ED) at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola. The position is part-time, working two 12-hour shifts from 11 am to 11 pm. The Paramedic will provide basic and advanced life support, identify and stabilize ill or injured patients under the direction of a physician or Registered Nurse, and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Responsibilities also include monitoring and communicating patient condition, providing patient and family education, and maintaining equipment for safety.

Requirements

Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
Paramedic specializing in Flight credentialed from the International Board of Specialty Certification obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date OR Paramedic credentialed from the Florida Emergency Medical Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care and evaluation of patients.
Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols.
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
Provide population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
