About The Position

Premier Ambulance is seeking dedicated, compassionate, and highly professional Paramedics to join our growing team of EMS professionals. We are committed to providing exceptional patient care and maintaining the highest standards of clinical and operational excellence. Paramedics are responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and professional emergency and non-emergency medical care and transportation to patients. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgment, professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced and stressful situations. Competitive wages with higher starting pay available based on previous ambulance experience. Slightly lower starting pay may apply to brand-new Paramedics with less than one year of experience and to 24-hour shift assignments. Some companies may advertise a higher hourly rate but operate under an alternate workweek arrangement and do not pay overtime until after the 10th hour in a day. Premier Ambulance pays overtime after the 8th hour worked in a day. Premier offers 10-, 11-, and 24-hour shift assignments. Premier provides non-emergency, 9-1-1 ambulance services and participates in regular strike team deployments.

Requirements

  • Current California Paramedic License
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Valid California Ambulance Driver Certificate
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current PALS certification
  • Current ICS 100 and ICS 700 certifications
  • Driving record that meets company and insurance requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced EMS environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care within the Paramedic scope of practice
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency medical transportation assignments
  • Perform patient assessments and provide appropriate advanced-level medical care
  • Monitor and reassess patients throughout transport
  • Safely transport patients to designated healthcare facilities
  • Operate and maintain ambulance equipment and medical supplies
  • Administer medications and perform advanced medical procedures within the paramedic’s authorized scope of practice and applicable OCEMS protocols, including operating and monitoring mechanical ventilators, infusion pumps, and other advanced life-support equipment.
  • Complete accurate patient care reports and required operational documentation
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare providers, dispatch, and other emergency personnel
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and properly stocked ambulance
  • Remain calm, professional, and clinically focused in high-stress situations
  • Follow company policies, clinical protocols, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Work effectively as part of an EMS team and communicate with EMT partners and other healthcare professionals
