Requirements

Paramedic certification
ACLS certification
Experience with 12 lead EKG stress testing
Experience establishing Peripheral Intravenous (IV) access
Ability to interpret EKG rhythms under physician guidance
Willingness to travel within Alabama and Tennessee

Responsibilities

Prepares patient for stress testing procedure; including patient interviews, obtaining medical history, obtaining patient consent and required signatures, and conducting patient teaching related to nuclear imaging procedure, including risks and complications.
Assesses patients’ blood pressure, pulse, obtains oxygen % saturation levels and establishes Peripheral Intravenous (IV) access.
Sets up and monitors patient through 12 lead EKG stress testing including application of 12 lead EKG monitor pads and application leads.
Identifies EKG rhythm and interpretation under physician guidance.
Under the direct supervision of the site physician, applies ACLS algorithms if patients experience complications or cardiac arrest during procedure including administration of resuscitation pharmacological agents, oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal airway placement.
Completes daily paperwork at customer site to include obtaining physician signature(s), photocopying, scanning, etc.
Maintains inventory of supplies and drugs at hub and on mobile unit.
Complies with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety and environmental standards.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Travel will include Alabama and Tennessee
