About The Position

AMR is hiring a full-time Paramedic in Harrisburg, Illinois, serving 911 calls. The role delivers compassionate, high-quality service and advanced patient care. Starting compensation is $24.58–$28.49 per hour, or $66,464–$77,036.96 annually, based on the local 2448 schedule and 2,496 annual work hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State Paramedic License.
• State Driver’s License.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NREMT-Paramedic.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass the Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation and determine the best course of action using progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Use Paramedic skills and medical equipment and procedures, including a defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids, to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and their loved ones, providing information and reassurance about the care being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR’s image and establish strong community relations.
