About The Position

Presbyterian is hiring a Paramedic for Espanola EMS. This role is fast-paced, hands-on, and highly collaborative, ideal for a clinician who thrives in dynamic environments and is committed to compassionate, evidence-based care. Paramedics operate with clinical autonomy while working closely with emergency department physicians, medical direction, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient transport, accurate documentation, and continuity of care across settings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current NM Drivers License (Out of State candidates must obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Maintain driving record insurable by Presbyterian policy
  • Must pass physical abilities assessment.
  • State of New Mexico Paramedic license in good standing.
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • Must obtain medical examiner certification/DOT certification as part of on-boarding and maintain.

Nice To Haves

  • EMT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides prehospital emergency care and transportation for injured and/or ill patients.
  • Delivers care utilizing standing guidelines and on-line medical direction.
  • Participates in the provision of patient care based on setting and acuity of patient care needs.
  • Administers medications and performs ALS level interventions and treatments as allowable per the NM State scope of practice, local guidelines, medical direction, and organizational policies.
  • Maintains current working knowledge and certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Responsible for documentation of patient care using current computerized patient documentation system.
  • Documents and maintains informative and accurate medical records for patient encounters.
  • Operates emergency vehicles in a safe manner, consistent with EVOC and defensive driving techniques.
  • Adheres to Presbyterian standards for professionalism and compassionate care.
  • Maintains positive communications and collaboration with Emergency Department physicians and staff.
  • Attends departmental staff meetings and/or education; keeps current with developments in the field.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
