Duke University Health System - Duke Urgent Care is seeking to hire a Paramedic to join their team. This role functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing direct patient care in accordance with the Paramedic scope of practice as defined by the North Carolina Medical Board and under the medical oversight of the practice setting Medical Director. The Paramedic will assist clinical staff in patient evaluation and treatment, obtain patient history, perform physical examinations, and execute delegated technical procedures. Responsibilities include monitoring patients, maintaining records using electronic health records, documenting patient status and care delivery, and initiating charges for patient treatment. The role involves professional communication with the healthcare team, operation of medical and mechanical equipment, ensuring equipment functionality, restocking supplies, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. Additionally, the Paramedic will act as a preceptor, support staff development, participate in performance improvement activities, and maintain certifications and clinical skills. This position is located at Duke Urgent Care Knightdale, a clinic providing comprehensive medical care for minor injuries and illnesses for infants, children, and adults.
