About The Position

The Paramedic responds to medical emergencies and provides advanced critical care while transporting patients to the hospital. As the first healthcare provider at a scene, the Paramedic works with firefighters and police to evaluate the situation. The role provides basic and advanced life-saving support, administers treatments, and directs EMTs in delivering patient care consistent with their training and certification level. This position is PRN, as needed.

Requirements

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Operate an emergency medical vehicle and respond to calls for aid in emergency situations.
• Evaluate patient conditions and establish an appropriate course of treatment.
• Provide emergency medical treatment to injured, sick, or incapacitated people.
• Perform invasive procedures under adverse conditions.
• Manage non-medical situations, such as crowd control and protecting a patient's valuables when necessary.
• Lift and transport patients while ensuring they remain stable during transport.
• Communicate patient data and condition to medical personnel at the emergency treatment facility.
• Direct EMTs in delivering patient care consistent with their training and certification level.
