Requirements

Must maintain full time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours) at the UNM EMSA towards completing a Bachelors of Science in EMS.
This position is limited to 11 months at which time the employee must vacate the position and apply for an open requisition
High School Diploma/GED equivalent required
Current New Mexico driver’s license is required without relevant restrictions within 30 days of hire.
Must be at least 18 years of age with a driving record insurable per Presbyterian policy
New Mexico Paramedic license required NM EMS Bureau
Must have current ACLS and BLS through AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross
Must be up to date with FEMA 100, 200, 700 courses
Must pass physical abilities assessment
Must obtain medical examiner certification/DOT certification as part of on-boarding.

Responsibilities

Provides prehospital 911 emergency care and/or Inter-facility transportation for injured and/or ill patients within ABC EMS Protocols.
Documents and maintains accurate medical records for patient encounters through use of ImageTrend Elite.
Operates emergency vehicles in a safe manner, consistent with EVOC.

Shift Differentials $2.00/hr Ambulance Service Differential, earned on all hours worked.
