About The Position

The Paramedic is a licensed Paramedic and functions under the direct supervision of the Staff Nurse, Department Director, or Clinical Manager of the unit. He/she assists with patient care by performing clinical & supportive functions that he/she has documented competency to perform. The Paramedic adheres to policy, procedures & established standards of practice.

Requirements

• Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent; Minimum education required for licensure as a Paramedic in the State of Florida.
• None required.
• State of Florida Paramedic License
• BLS and ACLS certification
• EKG competency on hire

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year of Emergency Services experience preferred.
• CPI certification within three (3) months of hire into position.

Responsibilities

• Assists with direct patient care as directed by the nurse and/or physician.
• Must utilize good communication skills.
• Participates in the Quality Improvement process to improve patient outcomes.
• Complies with all policies & procedures that pertain to HIPAA including the minimum necessary requirements this job position.
• Successfully completes department specific competency requirements and certifications.
• Completes blood draw competency within 3-months of hire into position.
