About The Position

This position responds to patient needs, prioritizing privacy, confidentiality, safety, and physical, psychological, cognitive, religious, and social needs. It incorporates population-specific safety and infection control measures, respects human worth, and engages family/caregivers in healthcare. The role involves mutual problem-solving, professional behaviors to help patients understand their health and illness, and a reciprocal approach to decision-making. The Paramedic is reliable, attentive, and communicates a supportive, open, positive, and tolerant attitude. They perform technical skills adapted to patient needs and provide safe patient care under physician delegation. Collaboration with the healthcare team, use of communication tools, cost-effective resource management, and prioritizing patient care are key. Flexibility with workload, patient needs, staffing, and acuity, along with respectful listening and collaboration with physicians and team members for individualized care, are essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship required
  • EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required upon hire or LP - Licensed Paramedic required upon hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care required and maintained quarterly

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience paramedic experience in EMS or fire department preferred
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 90 days of hire
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required within 90 days of hire
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90 days of hire and maintained annually
  • Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive interpersonal skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to perform basic computer skills
