As a Paramedic, you will provide immediate medical treatment to patients presenting with various critical injuries, illnesses and concerns. In this role, fast thinking and processing are essential, as every second counts in an emergency. Your tireless efforts help improve outcomes and make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, their families and your fellow caregivers. Full Time is 3x12 hour shifts per week. The hours available are listed below: 3:00 pm-3:00 am

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic Training Program
  • Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic Training Program

Nice To Haves

  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Certification
  • One year of experience as an EMT-P

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care in the Emergency Department under the direct supervision of an RN.
  • Obtain and record vital signs.
  • Perform EKGs, CPR and phlebotomy and oral, nasal and/or ET suctioning.
  • Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy and saline locks.
  • Notify the RN and/or physician of rhythm changes.
  • Apply orthopaedic appliances and simple splints.
  • Size crutches and teach crutch walking.
  • Assist with equipment setup, chest tubes, gastric lavage, LP, etc.
  • Assist with restraint and seclusion of patients and apply restraint devices.
  • Transport patients and specimens.
  • Assist with sterile procedures and cleaning/maintaining supplies and equipment.
  • Perform fluid/drug administration.
