About The Position

It's more than a career, it's a calling. WI-SSM Health Dean Medical Group Oregon has opportunities for Paramedics with a WI license. Position duties may include patient rooming, in-office procedure assistance, injection and vaccine administration, and general clinical administrative tasks in the electronic medical record program (Epic). The schedule is days only, Monday - Friday, with no nights, weekends, or holidays. A well-qualified candidate will be comfortable with hands-on patient care, open to new experiences and challenges, and ambitious, motivated, and sympathetic in nature. Requirements

  • MA, CMA or RMA- must be graduates of a school of medical assisting
  • EMTs with a WI license
  • Paramedics with a WI license
  • LPNs with a WI license
  • High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
  • No experience required

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, and may intervene and stabilize, the ill or injured patient during intrafacility and/or interfacility transport under the direction and in collaboration with the physician and/or Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Initiates and implements interventions based on team protocols.
  • Monitors, records and communicates patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
  • Provides population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
  • Inspects, maintains and cares for equipment to ensure safety of the team, patients and public.
  • May documents the provider's encounter with patients. Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as discharge/follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
  • May transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
  • Completes patient's charts by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations.
  • Continuously checks the progress of data availability for orders, to ensure the patient's workup is complete so that the provider is able to make treatment decisions regarding that patient.
  • May transcribes consultations or discussions with family and/or the patient's private physician or the on-call physician.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • May interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
  • May prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • May perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, scheduling patients, and filing.
  • May assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse.
  • May perform select clinical duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
