About The Position

Responsible for preparing, reviewing and processing legal documents based on the specific area of practice referral using accurate information pulled from our internal case management system as well as client websites with a high level of attention to detail. Correctly and accurately enter case deadlines and milestone completion details to client websites and internal case management system. Manage and prioritize workflow in a timely manner to satisfy client SLA’s, and assure compliance of all legal deadlines. Works with attorneys to assure hearing coverage is proper.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree, or equivalent plus certification by a national paralegal association required, bachelor's degree preferred, or at least 6 years of experience as a paralegal at Orlans.
  • Experienced in mortgage default, helpful.
  • High degree of customer service.
  • Advanced computer skills and ability to quickly grasp new technologies.
  • Error-free data entry skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task frequently and/or shift focus quickly.
  • Appropriate email and telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to work efficiently as an individual in a team environment under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Quick learner with an ability to take direction and know when to ask questions for better understanding.
  • Critical thinking skills with ability to solve problems.
  • Ability to read and understand PACER and other electronic court dockets.
  • Understands client specifics and recognizes jurisdictional nuances.
  • Ability to adapt easily.
  • Ability to understand, learn, and adapt to court procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and MS Windows and Office (including Word, Outlook, and Excel) experience required
  • Knowledge of Adobe/Nuance Power PDF

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and Updating Client websites with milestone completion and document uploads
  • Effectively and professionally communicates with clients, opposing counsel, and courts, via email, phone calls and client site intercoms
  • Respond to client status reports and inquiries timely
  • Request loan documents and follow up on required executables
  • Escalate title, AOM and executable needs to meet FLAD deadlines
  • Participating in clients visits, calls, audits and remediation as necessary
  • Conduct SCRA and PACER searches
  • Prepares, reviews and processes legal documents (ex., Motions, Discovery, Firm Defenses, Responses)
  • Monitor work queues to complete and reproject work items within time requirements
  • Update internal case management system with legal deadlines and milestone completion
  • Assures documents are compliant for filing and recording in multiple jurisdictions
  • Maintains all relevant documentation to our internal case management system
  • Assist with scorecard review and rebuttals
  • Pull and review workload and work queues reports
  • Effectively participates with team members to meet performance goals
  • Prioritize workflow based on client and legal deadlines
  • Accurately performs Data Entry
  • Expected to learn and understand client websites, screen prints and loan documents
  • Understands client and jurisdictional specifics
  • Regularly communicates with Orlans PC Attorneys
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • File as necessary
  • Requests and follows up on fee approval as necessary
  • Legal research as necessary.
  • Proactively monitoring and working with attorneys for scheduled hearings to ensure proper coverage
  • Proactively monitoring and working with attorneys on cases to ensure legal deadlines are met.
  • Works with Managing Litigation Attorney to improve templates and rulesets to accommodate client requirement, court requirements, and efficiencies.
  • Assists in the handling of client escalated matters for assigned states/attorneys
