Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Paralegal Certification required
  • 3-7 years’ experience working in law environment and/or property management.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with a working knowledge of common legal, HR and business concepts.
  • High-quality communication skills to liaise verbally and in writing with management, vendors, visitors, residents, legal counsel, administrative agencies, and other employees and team members.
  • Able to self-manage in a fast-paced environment within time and resource constraints.
  • Proven problem solving, conceptual thinking and analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional project management skills to effectively manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive legal support to the Legal Department by assisting with litigation management, operations, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, contract administration, legal research, document preparation, and cross-functional legal projects.
  • Support may also require assistance with property related incidents, government agency complaints, licensing compliance, entity maintenance and employment disputes.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to manage legal matters, ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies, monitor deadlines, and support the efficient operation of the legal function.
  • Provide real time support in dispute resolution of resident complaints and pre-litigation legal demands.
  • Provide real time support / coordination or research on property related matters, insurance claim complaints, government agency related complaints, licensing compliance and/or entity maintenance.
  • Assist in supporting bankruptcy platform and manage calendar of pending Motion for Relief hearings.
  • Manage calendaring and coordination with market teams and violations team on code enforcement matters as needed, confirm compliance, re-inspections, and assist with lien reduction efforts.
  • Assist in supporting pre-suit mediations and litigation involving homeowner associations, including retaining and managing outside counsel when necessary.
  • Support in-house attorneys in managing commercial litigation, employment disputes, regulatory matters, subpoenas, claims, mediations, and pre-litigation disputes.
  • Support pre-litigation and litigation workflows, including document collection, review coordination, and production tracking.
