About The Position

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Paralegal to provide legal and administrative support to the General Counsel across contract, claims, insurance, corporate, and other legal matters. This role involves managing the entire contract lifecycle, supporting claims and insurance matters, assisting with corporate records, and coordinating legal department administrative activities. The Paralegal will also be responsible for preparing, proofreading, and organizing various legal and business documents, while maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate.
  • 10–15 years of paralegal or closely related legal-support experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting an architecture, engineering, construction, or other professional-services organization.
  • Experience managing contracts and maintaining contract records throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Experience using a contract-management system, legal matter-management platform, or comparable document-management system.
  • Experience supporting claims and claims-management activities, particularly professional-services, professional-liability, construction, or project-related claims.
  • Experience working with insurance policies, certificates of insurance, endorsements, and contractual insurance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, written communication, time-management, attention-to-detail, confidentiality, and Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reviewing, revising, and redlining client, consultant, vendor, confidentiality, and other commercial agreements.
  • Familiarity with corporate records, entity administration, and corporate-governance documentation.
  • Experience supporting an in-house Legal, Risk Management, or professional-liability function within an AEC or professional-services organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the contract lifecycle, including intake, routing, tracking, execution, filing, and maintenance of client, consultant, vendor, and other business agreements.
  • Maintain the contract-management system and ensure agreements, amendments, and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, and readily accessible.
  • Assist with reviewing, comparing, revising, and redlining contracts and related legal documents.
  • Support professional-services and construction-related claims by organizing claim files, project records, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
  • Track and maintain insurance policies, certificates of insurance, endorsements, and contractual insurance requirements.
  • Assist with corporate records, entity documentation, governance materials, registrations, and related filings.
  • Coordinate legal department administrative activities, including calendar and deadline tracking, document filing, records retention, meeting support, invoice processing, and follow-up on action items.
  • Prepare, proofread, format, and organize contracts, correspondence, reports, presentations, and other legal or business documents.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of privileged, proprietary, personal, and sensitive business information.
