About The Position

Join Allstate’s Litigation Services team as a Paralegal Specialist, where your contributions will be essential to delivering strong legal outcomes and exceptional service to our clients. This remote role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys on high-impact insurance defense cases involving Michigan No-Fault Liability claims. You’ll take ownership of the litigation life cycle—from answering complaints and managing discovery to preparing for arbitration and trial. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of paralegal experience, or Paralegal certificate (ABA-approved preferred) and at least 2 years of paralegal experience
  • Demonstrated experience as a Paralegal in insurance defense or civil litigation, with specific exposure to Michigan No-Fault Liability cases
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, records collection, and review processes
  • Strong understanding of legal procedures including pleadings, discovery, motions, and court filings
  • Exceptional organizational and calendar management skills, with attention to deadlines and case progress
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting legal documents and client correspondence
  • Proven ability to multitask and stay proactive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Responsibilities

  • Open, organize, and maintain case files; track deadlines and ensure compliance with Michigan No-Fault timelines.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, mediation summaries, motions, and correspondence for litigation and claims.
  • Research Michigan statutes (MCL 500.3101 et seq.), case law, and insurance regulations relevant to No-Fault claims.
  • Request, review, and summarize medical records and billing statements; maintain accurate documentation for PIP benefits.
  • Serve as liaison between attorneys, clients, insurance adjusters, and medical providers; schedule independent medical examinations (IMEs).
  • Prepare exhibits, and trial binders for hearings and trials.
  • Monitor statutory deadlines and ensure timely filings under Michigan No-Fault Act.
  • Prepare claim file redactions in accordance with Michigan Court Rules for discovery and trial submissions.
